Who is BayREN?
BayREN, the “Bay Area Regional Energy Network,” is a collaboration of the nine counties that make up the San Francisco Bay Area—Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Led by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), BayREN provides regional-scale energy efficiency programs, services, and resources.
Why is BayREN offering this program?
The BayREN Business program offers eligible small and medium businesses the opportunity to retrofit existing inefficient equipment with more energy-efficient measures, making it easier to save energy and money. The program provides turnkey services including energy assessments, submission of all paperwork, ordering of materials, arranging of a contractor aligned with your schedule, and removal and recycling of old materials.
I’m not a business. I am calling from a church/non-profit/school. Are we still eligible?
Yes, if your facility meets the eligibility criteria, there is still an opportunity to participate. If your facility is a municipal building, please contact us for a referral to programs specific to government buildings.
Do I need an energy assessment if I already know what work I need to have completed at my facility?
Yes, the energy assessment is designed to provide program-specific recommendations based on your business type and operating hours. The assessment will provide you with unique information that will help make the right improvements for your business. The energy assessment is no cost to the customer.
